The sophisticated game of Golf is one of accuracy, power and patience – our 3 English Plus Golf locations are home to beautiful courses, perfect for those wanting some time-out on the course alongside developing their English.
The ability to play golf is not essential as students will be coached on technique, with each session focusing on a different element of the game but some previous experience can help.
The English Plus Golf course consists of 8 intensive coaching sessions over the two weeks, which are intermittent between our standard adventure activity sessions; excursions and evening entertainment, meaning golfers get the best of both worlds!
At the beginning of our 2-week course, we begin with an introduction to the sport, including etiquette, safety and understanding the basics such as handgrip, posture, ball position and swing technique. These skills are developed throughout the course utilising different clubs and shots required throughout the course. Finally, our coaches look at course management and scoring strategy.
PGA qualified experienced golf professionals deliver this high quality golf course using the excellent golfing facilities on-site giving our golfers the opportunity to play on a 9-hole golf course where they can develop their technique.
By the end of the course, students should have a greater appreciation on the sport and have gained the confidence to continue developing their skills.
Students will also always spend one day trip excursion sightseeing in England’s capital city, London.
Transfers and Entrance Fees are included in the price.

Camp Worksop is our biggest campus with a capacity of 300 students, so expect lots of social interaction with other students and at Camp Finborough, the school accommodation has just been through a modern refurbishment.
We always have separate quarters for boys and girls and where possible place campers of a similar age in a room together.

All meals are included and are served in large dining halls. Sit with friends on huge banquet tables and enjoy a selection of freshly prepared, nutritious food with both hot and cold options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
As well as traditional English cuisine, the kitchen also offers a range of international cuisine throughout the week with both hot and cold options.
Dietary requirements can be met when we are aware in advance.
The course consists of 4 intensive 2.5 hour coaching sessions over the two weeks, which are scheduled between our multi-activity sessions, excursions and evening entertainment, meaning golfers get the best of both worlds!
PGA qualified coaches begin the course with an introduction to the sport, with our students learning about the correct golf etiquette, behaviour and safety on the course. We also introduce and assess our players’ understanding of golf ‘set up’, including hand grip, posture, ball position and alignment as well as swing technique.
During the course, sessions will progress to learning different types of swing technique and an introduction to golf’s ‘short game’, including putting, chipping, pitching and bunkers.
Our students will be given the opportunity to play on the excellent golf courses on-site at each of the course locations, continuing to develop their knowledge and skills, including course management and scoring skills.
All equipment is provided however players may wish to bring their own golf clothing including waterproofs.
Levels: A1 – B2 on CEFR Pathway Table
To benefit the most from our English course at Camp Finborough, we recommend that children have at least one year of English experience before coming to camp. For Camp Worksop, we recommend having studied English for at approximately two years.
English lessons at Xplore are totally different to traditional school, we tailor our lessons and teaching approach to include interactive group and individual projects and presentations with interesting cultural and social topics to keep the course vibrant.
Our class sizes are also small, with a maximum of 12 children per class; this allows focused integration with other learners and the teacher. We also make sure to utilise a range of teaching approaches suitable for a range of learners, this makes the classes really interactive and encourages learners to have fun whilst learning which can enhance development.
At the end of the 2-week course, learners will complete an examination for the level they have been learning at. We will then receive a certificate from Anglia Examinations, which confirms your English level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference. Classroom learning time per week is 20 hours and our class sizes are same with approximately 12 students per teacher.
For students achieving a pass grade or higher for B1 and B2, they will receive an Ofqual approved certificate through Anglia Examinations partnership with AIM Awards.
During the 2-week programme, our staff will take all our campers on 3 organised day trip excursions.
Destinations vary depending on which camp you are staying at, but these fully supervised trips are the perfect way to spend the day off-campus with new friends.
(3 excursions during 2-week programme – Wednesday, Saturday, Wednesday)
Care & Supervision
Our Camp Leaders are responsible for the pastoral care of all those in our care and ensure that everyone is sleeping well, eating well, joining in, making friends and having a great time.
During free time, our teenagers are able to explore the campus with friends, whilst being supervised by their house parents.
Our camps are available to children from all over the world.
Integration and immersion is central to how we operate as an organisation, and by encouraging lots of social interaction between different cultures and creating a diverse international community at camp, it can really develop every child’s self-confidence in communicating with others.
